1 Outer aluminium frame

The top hood and surrounding outer aluminium covers are made with a corrosion-resistant PVF2 coating, which enhances durability and provides a sleek, modern appearance in a charcoal grey finish. The hood shields the window from direct rain and harsh weather by directing water away from the glazing and frame, which prevent leaks, reduces wear on the seals, and extends the lifespan of the roof window.

2 Rubber seal

Between the fixed wooden frame and the pivoting sash, TSRW roof windows incorporate precision-engineered EPDM rubber seals. These maintain consistent compression for a weather-tight seal, reduce air leakage, and ensure long-term durability without compromising ease of operation.

3 Glazing extrusion

Specially designed aluminium extrusions is used to securely seal the glass into the recessed frame with an allowence for a silicone strip to be added to ensure a watertight seal.

4 Frame support clips

This system ensures precise alignment critical for a smooth operating window, while simplifying ensuring an accurate fitting process.

5 Built-in Ventilation

The ventilation insert in a TSRW roof window is designed. By enabling controlled passive ventilation, it reduces humidity build-up, prevents condensation on glazing surfaces, and supports consistent indoor air quality without compromising thermal performance or security.

6 Pivot hinge

The TSRW roof window features our uniquely patented pivot hinge, specifically engineered for the South African climate. This precision design allows the sash to rotate smoothly within the frame, ensuring easy operation, secure positioning, and convenient cleaning access, while delivering long-term durability in local conditions.

7 Double-glazed glass

TSRW roof windows can be fitted with double-glazed glass for enhanced performance. The dual-pane system improves insulation, reduces heat loss, minimises noise, and increases energy efficiency, all while allowing maximum natural light into your space.

8 Interior Frames

All inner frames are constructed from quality kiln dried meranti. All frames come either pre-varnished or sprayed white prior to final assembly. Alternative colours can be done on request.

9 The drip cill

The aluminium drip cill at the base of the roof window channels condensation and rainwater away from the frame, guiding it onto the flashing system for effective drainage and long-term protection.

10 Opening mechanisms

TSRW roof windows can be operated in three ways: by hand, with an extension rod for out-of-reach installations, or through a motorised operator for effortless control at the touch of a button.
